Bandslam 'New Moon' Trailer

Posted by Robin on 14 Aug 2009 || 0 Comments

Hey everyone. I don't know about the rest of the staff, but I have been receiving a bunch of emails with links to videos of the 'New Moon' trailer that is now showing in front of the film 'Bandslam'. I truly do appreciate the information and the links, but unfortunately, the videos are all pirated. They were filmed and posted WITHOUT Summit Entertainment's permission, which is ILLEGAL. Therefore, while we would all love to be able to post them for you, it would be breaking the law, and so we will NOT post a video of the trailer unless it has been officially released by Summit. BAE has a good relationship with Summit Entertainment, and I hope you understand us wishing to keep it that way. Thanks for understanding and for sending in information. wink

Too Much 'Twilight'?

Posted by Robin on 14 Aug 2009 || 0 Comments

E! Online believes 'Twilight' has been "overexposed".

Remember when Hollywood vampires were indie cool? Think TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Roman Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers.

But then Twilight arrived. And Robert Pattinson assaulted our senses with his everywhere-ness. And fanggirls assaulted our senses with their everywhere-ness at Comic-Con.

And, finally, overkill of overkills: Starting Friday, people are going to fork over their hard-earned allowances for tickets to Bandslam—Bandslam!—just to see the new trailer for New Moon.

It's over. Hollywood vampires have jumped the shark. Thanks to the Twilight Saga, they are too big to be indie. They are too hot to be cool. They are a blasted water-ski attraction. Just like Fonzie. The original shark-jumper.

They then list 5 signs that support their theory. What do you think, too much 'Twilight'/'New Moon' coverage, not enough coverage, or a perfect amount?

Director Says Rob Should Star in 'Youngblood'

Posted by Robin on 13 Aug 2009 || 0 Comments

In an interview with MTV, director Brett Ratner said he thinks Rob should be in 'Youngblood'.

"Definitely [Robert Pattinson] from 'Twilight,' " Ratner told MTV News when asked if he had any actors in mind for his upcoming film based on a comic book series about a government-sanctioned team of superheroes. "He just feels like he belongs in that world."

"I don't only see him as a vampire," explained Ratner. "He's a really good actor."

Based on writer/artist Rob Liefeld's Image Comics series, one of the most popular titles of the 1990s comics boom, "Youngblood" follows a group of superheroes who live in the public eye and deal with superhero-level doses of drama when they're not battling with bad guys. The team is led by a former FBI agent and expert marksman who goes by the codename "Shaft," and that seems the most likely role for Pattinson in Ratner's adaptation.

"[Pattinson] could do anything," said Ratner. "He just has that look. ... I picture him on Youngblood, for sure."

FEARnet: Eclipse Casting Picks

Posted by Jenny on 13 Aug 2009 || 0 Comments

FEARnet have a new article which talks about ideal actor picks for the Eclipse characters Royce, Maria and Bree. Sara from FEARnet, Jenna from E! Television and myself all contributed, and I think we came up with a pretty fun list.

With these rumors milling I decided to cast my vote early for the few Eclipse characters who are as-of-yet uncast: Royce King, Marie and Bree (Okay… it's probably Jodelle, but I LOVE to speculate, so bare with me.)

Tired of hearing only my own opinions (shocking I know!), I sought some outside Twilight expertise from one of the writers behind BellaAndEdward.com and an especially Twihard member of the Talent & Development department at E! Television. I think you'll agree that our combined picks in the talent lists that follow are pretty bad ass.

About: I was skeptical at first about the series. All my friends were reading it in 9th grade and I just wasn't into it. I had been burned pretty bad by a relationship and I just wasn't believing the whole 'love story' thing. Then, on one fateful night, I was at a book sale and was desperately seeking a new read. Twilight seemed to be glowing on the shelf and I was drawn to buy it. I didn't know why, like I said, I didn't want to even think about love. I went home and cracked open the fresh book. I instantly related to Bella. Her feelings became my feelings. Her curiosity became my curiosity. I carried the book around with me everywhere I went. I found myself even slowing down in reading it because I didn't want it to end. I closed the back cover and took a deep breath, then I realized something. I had learned to believe in love again. A simple book and taught me to believe in what I thought just couldn't exist. I also learned that every girl deserves their very own Edward Cullen. No one should settle for just some guy. He needs to be your guy. Your dream guy. Well, let's say I am not a skeptic anymore. As a freshman in college, I find myself having a lot of free time to re-read the books... again. I have my own 59 song playlist for all the books on my i-Tunes and I love that it brings me back to the moments in the books. I have met so many people just by saying that I am a "Twilighter". It amazing how passionate you can become about a novel. I am so happy I bought Twilight on a whim. It has transformed my life and taught me so much about myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my Twilight story.

About: Recently, my youngest aunt died unexpectedly in her sleep.I was left in the most depressed mood that I've ever experienced. I felt like something inside my heart had fallen out, was missing, and would never come back. It was a physical condition that literally made me uncomfortable. I thought of New Moon, and how Bella feels throughout that book. She is always holding herself together with her crossed arms. I realized that this was the closest description to what I was feeling. My chest hurt, like it was falling apart inside. Then I thought of how Bella turns into a zombie for several months and decided that I didn't want to be like that. I didn't want to lose myself in grief, and I know my aunt wouldn't have wanted me to do that either. I know that this case is different, in that I will never get that piece of my heart back for good, but I don't want to be like Zombie Bella. I want to be strong, like Bella becomes after her loss. I will never forget how Twilight helped me straighten my thoughts and fix myself in the worst times of my life. It takes an amazing book to do something like that. And an amazing writer to portray such a real and painful emotion so realistically. From all of the ways that Twilight has changed my life, this is definitely the biggest. It helpled to support me when I thought nothing could, and gave me hope when everything in my world was bleak.
