Posted by Robin on 04 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

Rumor has it that Rob is one of the actors being considered to portray Prince Harry in a movie called 'The Spare'. ***THIS IS STRICTLY RUMOR AT THIS POINT*** According to the UK version of OK! Magazine:

Rupert Friend, 28, and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, 21, will go head-to-head with R-Pattz to portray the prince on screen.

The movie, called The Spare, will cover the highs of lows of his royal experiences, including the death of his mother Princess Diana and his time spent on the front line of the Army in Afghanistan.

With the screenplay in the works film bosses are searching for the perfect young star. Filming is set to begin next year in both the UK and the Middle East.

Kristen May Have Joined the Marines!

ComingSoon.net spoke with James Woods about a movie he is currently filming, as well as one in which he plans to direct Kristen. You can click the link for a plot synopsis.

ComingSoon.net recently visited the set of the movie in Shreveport, Louisiana, and we were able to talk to Woods first-hand about the role, as well as a project he's really invested in called An American Girl which Woods plans to direct with Kristen Stewart (the "Twilight" films) in the lead role. Woods bought the script, written by Tim Metcalfe (Kalifornia, The Haunting in Connecticut) and Sean McCarthy, then approached Kristen Stewart "before she was famous," telling her that he wouldn't make the movie with anyone but her, and since reading the script, Stewart has been urgently wanting to get the movie made.

Taylor Lautner Interview

Posted by Robin on 03 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

Box Office has an interview with Taylor. Click the link to read the entire interview. Here is a taste:

If the last two books in the series hadn't already been written, what do you think Jacob should do to win over Bella?

I don't think he would have changed anything, and I don't think he should change anything. Jacob and Edward are extremely different guys and it's just whether you want one guy or another. Jacob is himself, and he has a relationship with Bella that Edward doesn't. And Edward has a relationship with Bella that Jacob doesn't. So I wouldn't change a thing.

As an actor, how do you make the audience root for Jacob and get invested in his feelings when the outcome of the love triangle is already known?

Well, you try and take things one step at a time. When I'm filming New Moon, I'm not thinking about Eclipse. When I'm filming Eclipse, I'm not thinking about Breaking Dawn. We just have to focus on the movie that we're doing.

What is it like for your family and friends to see people scream at pictures of you topless?

[Laughs] It's weird. It's embarrassing for me, and I'm sure it's awkward for all of them.

What do you like about playing Jacob?

I love Jacob and Bella's relationship. It's very different from Edward and Bella's. Jacob and Bella start off as really good friends. They become best friends—they can tell each other anything, they do whatever together, ride motorcycles. I love that. And then their relationship starts growing into more and more, and you wonder if they're going to go past friends. I love being able to do that. And work with an amazing actress, Kristen Stewart, and all of the help around us, our director Chris Weitz, the whole crew. It's a lot of fun.

It's been years since we've had a good werewolf film—it's been vampires, then zombies, then vampires again. What's awesome about werewolves?

They're different. Werewolves are extremely strong, which is cool. But it's a bummer because I don't actually get to play my werewolf. It's full-blown CGI; it's either me or a CGI werewolf. So that's a bummer, but I know they're going to look awesome in the film. I'm excited to see it.

That wolfness—do you have to bring that animal movement in your human performance?

The only difference is in New Moon, I play pre-transformation Jacob, and post. He doesn't transform into a werewolf until halfway through the film. For pre-transformation, the books describe Jacob as clumsy. He trips over his own feet—he's a kid. And as soon as he transforms, he all of a sudden because extremely agile. There's several scenes that show his new agility, so that was the biggest thing I had to bring out.

Not to jump ahead too much, but Jacob's love life takes a turn in the fourth book that I think might be hard to translate to people who haven't read the series. Do you have any thoughts on how to handle his 'imprinting' on Bella's daughter?

I'm sure it would be different. It was definitely a surprise for me when I read the book. But we're just trying to take it one movie at a time, and nothings been confirmed yet on the fourth, so we're just staying focused on Eclipse at the moment.

Grizzly Bear 'New Moon' track live

Posted by Robin on 03 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

There is video on YouTube of Grizzly Bear playing their track from the 'New Moon' soundtrack live. The song is called "Slow Life". The audio isn't the greatest, and there is a lot of crowd noise at some points, but you definitely get a taste.

Rob Interview

Posted by Robin on 03 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

Twilight Poison has the translation for an interview Rob did for the Mexican magazine 'Joy'. It seems to be a very good and honest interview. Click the link for the entire interview, and for scans.

Last time we saw you, Twilight was about to be released and you said you didn’t know what to expect of the movie, and that everybody was looking forward to it. After all the success and box office numbers, how do you feel?
It’s very strange. I can say that everything has happened very fast. Like I’m fast-forwarding through life. Like everything around me is happening at 1000 m/p. The way you fast-forward a movie, just like that. I never thought the movie would cause such a stir. Seeing girls screaming around me is so bizarre. Sometimes I can’t believe is all about me. It’s like I’m living inside a movie, but I wake up and it’s all real. I see that it’s real and how much my life has changed. I still don’t know in which ways my life has changed, I’m still figuring that out. And I don’t know why but I think it’s going to take me a long time to figure it out. I guess it’s normal, don’t you think?

Of course! But we can’t deny that you’re already such a phenomenon by yourself. You have fans waiting for your next movie and wondering what you’re up to. Are you aware of that?
Yes, in fact, that’s the most strange part of it. For instance, I haven’t been able to see the final cut of New Moon, and I’ve read so many comments and opinions about it already. It’s something I can’t understand. It’s like everyone else can read into your future or, like they have more information of your life than you do...

Speaking of passion and music, we know you write songs. What can you share about it?
I’m trying to write some songs for the next movie. I don’t know if it will be possible because of my schedule, but I want to do it. Music is the other side of me, it’s one of the things that complete me and I wouldn’t want to leave it aside for anything in the world. I have the intention of evolving in that aspect. It’s something I want to develope just as much as acting. I want to have a balance between those two things...

Do you have a spiritual side?
I believe in Karma. I believe it exists and whatever you do in your everyday life makes the eprson that you are. What you give in life comes back to you. I’m convinced of that, so I’m sure that everyday you have to be a good person and treat everyone with respect. We’re all connected.

We know you can’t say much about New Moon, but don’t leave before you tell us, did you have to go to some place dark to play this vampire again?
Yes, the truth is that the way I wanted to play Edward was less powerful. He’s a character that can’t change his condition, he didn’t choose his fate. He was unconcious when Carlisle turned him into a vampire. When he woke up, three days later, he realized that in oder to survive he would have to kill people. Imagine what would you feel like if you knew you would never grow old and that you would live forever. And what’s worse, you didn’t look for it. You become a sort of Superman without even wanting to be that, you were just a 17 year old kid. You must feel a huge impotence and frustration. Instead of believeing you’re hero, you’re a person who can’t find himself and doesn’t know who he is. Understanding that has been fundamental in understanding Edward. That very human side of him is what I love about him and I feel like I can relate to that. There’s something we all find hard to change and face about ourselves.

Alex Meraz the Vampire?

Posted by Robin on 03 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

Shockya.com has an odd photo of Alex Meraz playing vampire. It doesn't say exactly where the photo came from, or even when it was taken, but it is interesting.

UPDATE: The photo shoot was for Los Angeles Confidential, via MTV: THIS FALL MTV debuts the new reality series Styl’d, in which young, aspiring stylists work for famed celebrity stylists—Jen Rade, Eric Archibald and Julie Weiss—as they vie for a contract with Los Angeles’ renowned Margaret Maldonado Agency. As is par for the reality- show course, there will be backstabbing, hookups and plenty of daunting challenges in which each cast member tries to prove his or her innate styling abilities. During the months of filming, one of the challenges was an editorial fashion shoot with Los Angeles Confidential, featuring The Twilight Saga: New Moon actor Alex Meraz. On the following pages, see the hauntingly beautiful shoot that took place at the Grand View Cemetery in Glendale as part of the show. Make sure to tune into Los Angeles Confidential’s episode when it premieres and catch the much-anticipated second film in the Twilight series when it hits big screens next month. We think you’ll agree when you look at the stunning photos that it’s truly “scary” how much talent these young stylists have. The link has a slideshow of photos from the shoot.

Empire Features 'New Moon'

Posted by Robin on 02 Oct 2009 || 0 Comments

The November issue of Empire Magazine features 'New Moon'.

In the November issue of Empire, out now, we not only have two spiffing New Moon posters but also the lowdown on the second instalment in the Twilight series. And we got Chris Weitz and Taylor Lautner to explain why this one's harder-edged and more man-friendly.

"You've got the werewolves coming in," said Weitz, "and the effects are going to be great on that part of the movie. Also, there's more fighting and that should appeal to the boys. There is also a male character, Jacob, who is inherently a more viable character for most boys because he's like an ordinary guy. He works on cars, whereas Edward is a perfect man, and maybe he only appeals to perfect men. That makes the demographic rather small! So there's more of a way into this one - we do hope to up the male demographic!"

Lautner, who's put on a huge amount of muscle to bulk up for the role, said of his role, "In Twlight, Jacob is this happy-go-lucky kid, but in New Moon when he shapeshifts into his wolf self, he becomes a totally different person. It was almost a split personality in the same movie and sometimes even in the same day."

For more on New Moon, pick up the new Empire and read the whole thing / put up the free posters on your wall / fold pages from the magazine into an origami statue of Edward.

About: I was skeptical at first about the series. All my friends were reading it in 9th grade and I just wasn't into it. I had been burned pretty bad by a relationship and I just wasn't believing the whole 'love story' thing. Then, on one fateful night, I was at a book sale and was desperately seeking a new read. Twilight seemed to be glowing on the shelf and I was drawn to buy it. I didn't know why, like I said, I didn't want to even think about love. I went home and cracked open the fresh book. I instantly related to Bella. Her feelings became my feelings. Her curiosity became my curiosity. I carried the book around with me everywhere I went. I found myself even slowing down in reading it because I didn't want it to end. I closed the back cover and took a deep breath, then I realized something. I had learned to believe in love again. A simple book and taught me to believe in what I thought just couldn't exist. I also learned that every girl deserves their very own Edward Cullen. No one should settle for just some guy. He needs to be your guy. Your dream guy. Well, let's say I am not a skeptic anymore. As a freshman in college, I find myself having a lot of free time to re-read the books... again. I have my own 59 song playlist for all the books on my i-Tunes and I love that it brings me back to the moments in the books. I have met so many people just by saying that I am a "Twilighter". It amazing how passionate you can become about a novel. I am so happy I bought Twilight on a whim. It has transformed my life and taught me so much about myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my Twilight story.

About: Recently, my youngest aunt died unexpectedly in her sleep.I was left in the most depressed mood that I've ever experienced. I felt like something inside my heart had fallen out, was missing, and would never come back. It was a physical condition that literally made me uncomfortable. I thought of New Moon, and how Bella feels throughout that book. She is always holding herself together with her crossed arms. I realized that this was the closest description to what I was feeling. My chest hurt, like it was falling apart inside. Then I thought of how Bella turns into a zombie for several months and decided that I didn't want to be like that. I didn't want to lose myself in grief, and I know my aunt wouldn't have wanted me to do that either. I know that this case is different, in that I will never get that piece of my heart back for good, but I don't want to be like Zombie Bella. I want to be strong, like Bella becomes after her loss. I will never forget how Twilight helped me straighten my thoughts and fix myself in the worst times of my life. It takes an amazing book to do something like that. And an amazing writer to portray such a real and painful emotion so realistically. From all of the ways that Twilight has changed my life, this is definitely the biggest. It helpled to support me when I thought nothing could, and gave me hope when everything in my world was bleak.
